According to a report by BBC Sports on Monday, November 2, 2026, the Women's Super League standings have experienced significant changes following Sunday's fixtures, as Chelsea maintained their position at the summit with an outstanding 6-0 victory over Charlton Athletic.
Manchester City also recorded an important 2-1 win against London City Lionesses, while Arsenal were forced to settle for a point after playing out a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa.
Chelsea produced an impressive display against Charlton Athletic, securing a commanding 6-0 victory. The Blues were particularly dominant in the first half, scoring four times within the opening 19 minutes before finding the net twice more to complete their emphatic triumph. The victory takes Chelsea to 22 points from eight league matches, maintaining their unbeaten record this season.
Manchester City also continued their impressive campaign with a 2-1 away victory over London City Lionesses. Khadija Shaw gave City the advantage before Jana Fernandez restored parity for the hosts. However, Lauren Hemp eventually scored the decisive goal to secure all three points for Manchester City.
The result means City now have 22 points, the same number as Chelsea, but remain second because of their inferior goal difference.
Arsenal, on the other hand, missed an opportunity to close the gap on the leading teams after drawing 1-1 with Aston Villa. Chasity Grant put Villa ahead before Alessia Russo produced a late equaliser in the 85th minute to rescue a point for the Gunners.
Elsewhere, Tottenham Hotspur strengthened their position in the top four with a convincing 4-1 victory over Birmingham City. Brighton also claimed a 2-1 win against Crystal Palace, while West Ham United defeated Liverpool 4-1.
Following the latest round of fixtures, Chelsea remain top of the WSL table with 22 points and a goal difference of +23. Manchester City occupy second place with the same number of points but a goal difference of +12.
Manchester United are currently fifth with 12 points, while Arsenal sit seventh with 10 points after dropping points against Aston Villa.
At the other end of the standings, Charlton Athletic remain bottom in 14th position without a single point from their opening eight matches following another disappointing defeat.
With several fixtures still remaining this season, the competition for the WSL title, European qualification places and survival is expected to become more intense as the campaign progresses.
