According to a report by Barca Universal on Sunday October 25, 2026, Barcelona midfielder Gavi has sent a heartfelt message to Paris Saint-Germain winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia following the Georgian international’s reported serious knee injury.
Kvaratskhelia is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after reportedly tearing his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) during PSG’s Champions League encounter with Barcelona, in which the French champions secured a 4-2 victory.
The injury represents a major setback for the winger, who has established himself as an important figure in Luis Enrique’s attacking setup.
Speaking to DAZN Fútbol, Gavi expressed his sympathy for the PSG star and offered words of encouragement as he begins the difficult road to recovery.
“I send him my best wishes. He’ll come back stronger,” the Barcelona midfielder said.
Gavi also revealed the high regard in which he holds Kvaratskhelia, praising the winger’s quality and suggesting he deserves recognition among the best players in world football.
“He’s a player I absolutely love. I’d be very happy if he finished in the top five of the Ballon d’Or. He deserves to be there,” Gavi added.
The comments underline the admiration Kvaratskhelia has earned across European football, including from players who compete against him at club level.
Known for his close control, explosive dribbling and creativity in the final third, the Georgian winger has become a dangerous attacking presence for PSG. His ability to beat defenders and create chances makes him a valuable asset, and his absence could be keenly felt by the French side.
Gavi’s message also carries particular significance because the Barcelona midfielder has experienced the challenges of recovering from a serious knee injury himself. His own ACL injury forced him to spend a lengthy period away from competitive action, giving him an understanding of the physical and mental demands involved in rehabilitation.
Although every recovery is different, Gavi’s experience makes his words of encouragement especially meaningful as Kvaratskhelia prepares for the next stage of his career.
The injury could also affect the winger’s individual ambitions. Gavi believes Kvaratskhelia deserves a place among the Ballon d’Or’s top five, although a lengthy absence could complicate his chances of competing for major individual honours.
For PSG, the priority will be supporting the Georgian international through his recovery while finding ways to cope with the loss of one of their key attacking options.
