According to a report by GOAL on Sunday October 25, 2026, Paris Saint-Germain have suffered a major injury setback, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia set to undergo surgery in Doha after suffering a ruptured ACL.
The Georgia international sustained the serious right knee injury during PSG’s 4-2 Champions League victory over Barcelona, bringing a disappointing end to what had been a promising campaign for the winger.
Medical examinations carried out after the match confirmed that Kvaratskhelia had completely ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament. According to L’Équipe, the 25-year-old will travel to Qatar early next week for surgery at the renowned Aspetar clinic.
The injury is expected to keep Kvaratskhelia out for the remainder of the 2026-27 season, with ACL recoveries typically requiring several months of rehabilitation before a player can return to competitive action.
Kvaratskhelia had made 10 appearances for PSG across all competitions this season, scoring twice before the injury halted his campaign.
His absence will be a significant blow to PSG, particularly because of his ability to beat defenders, create chances and provide a direct threat from the wing. The French champions will now have to find ways to cope without one of their key attacking options as they continue their domestic and European campaign.
For Kvaratskhelia, the focus now shifts from helping PSG on the pitch to undergoing surgery and beginning what is expected to be a long road back to full fitness.
