According to Football London in a report published on Monday, November 2, 2026, the Brazilian teenager made his first Premier League start of the season against Manchester United and played a significant role in Chelsea's successful afternoon.
The 19-year-old caused constant problems for United's defence with his pace, movement and attacking ability. Operating from the right flank, he repeatedly challenged Michael Carrick's defenders and demonstrated why Chelsea consider him an exciting prospect for the future.
Estevao recorded six attempts on goal, with three testing the goalkeeper. His six shots represented the highest number registered by any Chelsea player in a single match this season. He also delivered eight crosses, highlighting his contribution to the team's attacking approach.
The Brazilian came close to completing an excellent performance with a second-half goal. However, his effort was disallowed after the officials ruled that he had been marginally offside. Despite missing out on a goal, his overall contribution attracted considerable attention.
His performance was particularly impressive given his limited involvement before the encounter. He had accumulated just 172 minutes of playing time throughout the season and was previously left on the bench during Chelsea's Carabao Cup elimination against Liverpool.
Competition for places in Chelsea's attacking department has made regular appearances difficult, with Morgan Rogers, Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro also competing for positions. However, Joao Pedro's recent injury could provide Estevao with an opportunity to establish himself more firmly in Alonso's plans.
Palmer was pleased with his teammate's performance and highlighted the importance of remaining patient while waiting for opportunities.
“He needed to be patient for his moment and he got his moment today,” said Palmer.
“He was unlucky with the offside. I think it was literally a centimetre. But we know the talent he’s got and we all love him. So hopefully he can continue like that.”
Chelsea will now prepare for their Premier League meeting with Sunderland as they continue pursuing a top-four finish. Estevao's impressive contribution against Manchester United has strengthened his argument for another starting position.
Although Alonso will make the final decision, the teenager has given his manager a strong reason to consider keeping him in the starting lineup for the upcoming fixture.
