According to a report published by BBC Sport on Thursday, October 29, 2026, Manchester City Women were denied victory after Paris Saint-Germain Women secured a late equaliser in their 1-1 draw in the UEFA Women's Champions League.
The first half produced no goals, as both teams found it difficult to break through their opponents' defensive lines. Despite playing in front of their home supporters, Manchester City struggled to establish complete control, while PSG remained compact and organised at the back. The referee brought the opening period to an end after four minutes of added time, with the score still at 0-0.
After the interval, both sides continued searching for an opening goal and made substitutions to improve their chances of winning. Manchester City introduced Mary Fowler in the 62nd minute before bringing on Niamh Charles and Iman Beney as they looked to increase their attacking intensity.
Paris Saint-Germain also made changes in an attempt to trouble the hosts' defence. Nevertheless, the two teams continued to cancel each other out until the closing minutes of the match.
Manchester City finally gained the advantage in the 85th minute when Khadija Shaw converted a penalty with confidence. Her effort gave the hosts a 1-0 lead and raised hopes that they would secure a hard-fought victory.
However, PSG refused to give up and found an equaliser in the 88th minute. Tara Elimbi completed the comeback by scoring from Griedge Mbock Bathy Nka's assist, silencing Manchester City's hopes of claiming all three points. With only a few minutes remaining, City were unable to find another goal before the final whistle.
The late goal meant Manchester City had to settle for a single point despite taking the lead so close to the end of the game. PSG, on the other hand, showed determination and fighting spirit to avoid defeat on their opponents' home ground.
As a result of the draw, Manchester City Women occupied ninth place in the UEFA Women's Champions League table with three points. Paris Saint-Germain Women, meanwhile, rose to sixth position after taking their tally to five points.
