Barcelona Star Reveals Why Club’s Orange Kit Could Be Cursed After PSG Defeat

According to a report by Barca Universal on Sunday October 25, 2026, Barcelona forward Karim Adeyemi has joked that the club’s orange third kit could be cursed following their disappointing 4-2 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

The German striker admitted that he likes the shirt’s colour but suggested Barcelona might need to reconsider wearing it because of their struggles in the design.

Adeyemi made the comments in a video discussing his favourite football shirts. According to SPORT, he revealed that he had heard about Barcelona’s poor results when wearing the orange kit away from home. The forward humorously questioned whether the club should continue using the shirt despite appreciating its appearance.

His remarks have attracted attention among Barcelona supporters, with the kit becoming associated with several frustrating results. The growing superstition has fuelled jokes whenever the Blaugrana return to wearing the design.

Barcelona used the orange strip in several matches last season, including encounters against Sevilla, Real Sociedad, Alaves, Newcastle United, Club Brugge and Paris Saint-Germain. However, their record in the kit has not been entirely disappointing.

The Catalan giants secured a 2-1 victory over Newcastle in the Champions League while wearing orange. They also played out an entertaining 3-3 draw against Club Brugge. Nevertheless, their less encouraging performances have kept the supposed curse alive among supporters.

Barcelona’s latest appearance in the shirt came during their Champions League trip to Paris Saint-Germain on October 20. Hansi Flick’s team suffered a 4-2 defeat at the Parc des Princes, reigniting conversations about the kit’s questionable reputation.

However, Barcelona did not deliberately choose the orange design because of superstition. The club reportedly had to avoid all three of its current-season kits because of concerns about visibility during television broadcasts.

Their traditional blue-and-red home shirt, black-and-purple away strip and teal third kit were considered unsuitable for the encounter. Consequently, Barcelona had little choice but to bring back last season’s orange alternative.

The defeat has now given Adeyemi another reason to joke about the shirt’s supposed curse.
