According to a report by BBC Sport on Saturday, October 31, 2026, Chelsea secured an important 2-0 victory over Manchester United in their Premier League meeting at Stamford Bridge.
Both teams started the game with the intention of taking control, but Chelsea looked dangerous whenever they moved forward, creating some good chances while Manchester United also had opportunities to trouble the home side. However, neither team managed to find the back of the net before the half-time break, as both defences did enough to keep the score level.
Chelsea returned for the second half with more purpose and were rewarded in the 50th minute when Morgan Rogers opened the scoring. The midfielder finished with his left foot after Romeo Lavia provided the assist, giving the Blues the breakthrough they had been looking for.
Manchester United struggled to respond, and their situation became worse in the 63rd minute when Lisandro Martinez was sent off after receiving a second yellow card for violent conduct. The decision came after VAR reviewed a penalty incident involving the defender and Wesley Fofana.
Cole Palmer stepped forward to take responsibility from the spot and calmly converted in the 64th minute, sending Senne Lammens the wrong way to double Chelsea's advantage.
United tried to find a way back into the game, but Chelsea remained in control and defended their lead until the final whistle. The Blues also had a third goal ruled out for offside following a VAR review, while Mike Penders made important saves to keep a clean sheet.
The victory sees Chelsea return to fourth position on the Premier League table with 16 points, just four points behind leaders Manchester City. Manchester United, meanwhile, remain 16th with seven points, just one point above the relegation zone.
