According to a report by BBC Sport on Friday, October 30, 2026, Al Ittihad missed the chance to secure all three points after being held to a disappointing 1-1 draw by Abha in their Saudi Pro League encounter.
The visitors came into the match hoping to collect a victory and continue their push towards the top of the league table, but Abha made things difficult for them despite spending much of the game defending against their opponents' attacking pressure.
Al Ittihad dominated possession during the opening exchanges, although they struggled to turn their control of the ball into clear goalscoring opportunities. Abha also had a few chances to threaten, but neither side managed to find the breakthrough before the referee brought the first half to an end.
The visitors eventually took the lead seven minutes after the restart when Houssem Aouar found the back of the net in the 52nd minute, giving Al Ittihad a deserved advantage after their efforts to break down the home side's defence.
Abha responded by making changes in an attempt to get back into the contest, while Al Ittihad also introduced fresh players as they looked to protect their lead and see out the remaining minutes without dropping points.
However, the home supporters finally had something to celebrate in the 87th minute when Faisal Al-Subiani scored the equaliser, leaving Al Ittihad with little time to find another goal before the final whistle.
The visitors tried to push forward during the closing stages, but Abha held on to secure a valuable point from the encounter.
The result sees Al Ittihad move into fourth position in the Saudi Pro League table with 24 points, while Abha remain at the bottom despite their late equaliser.
