According to a report by Barca Universal on Thursday, October 15, 2026, Barcelona could face a major financial hurdle in their pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur defender Pedro Porro, with the Premier League club reportedly demanding around £75 million for the Spanish international.
According to SPORT, Barcelona have identified the 27-year-old as a potential defensive target for the summer of 2027. However, Tottenham’s reported valuation of approximately €90 million could complicate the Catalan club’s efforts to secure his signature.
Porro recently signed a new contract that reportedly runs until 2031, strengthening Tottenham’s negotiating position. The London club are understood to be reluctant to let the right-back leave without receiving a substantial transfer fee.
Barcelona are attracted to Porro’s attacking qualities, crossing ability and Premier League experience. His playing style could suit manager Hansi Flick’s tactical system, which requires full-backs to contribute significantly to the team’s attacking play.
Nevertheless, spending close to €90 million on a right-back would represent a considerable financial commitment for Barcelona and could restrict their ability to strengthen other areas of the squad.
Real Madrid have also reportedly expressed interest in Porro, potentially setting up competition between the Spanish rivals for his services. Any transfer, however, will depend on whether the interested clubs are prepared to meet Tottenham’s demands.
Barcelona are also monitoring Sporting CP defender Iván Fresneda as a possible alternative. Should Tottenham refuse to reduce their asking price, the Catalan giants could shift their attention towards a more affordable option.
