Pedro Neto earns Premier League Team of the Month recognition alongside former Chelsea star Nicolas

Pedro Neto has earned recognition for his impressive improvement under Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso after being included in the Premier League Team of the Month for October alongside former Blues striker Nicolas Jackson.

According to a report by The Chelsea Chronicle on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, both players were named in Opta Analyst's Team of the Month, which is compiled using player ratings from FotMob.

The Portuguese winger enjoyed an impressive October, recording two goals and one assist in four Premier League appearances for Chelsea.

During the month, Chelsea secured three victories from their four league matches, defeating Bournemouth, Everton and Manchester United, while suffering their only defeat against Tottenham Hotspur.

Jackson also received recognition following his impressive performances since joining Aston Villa. The Senegalese striker has scored five goals in eight Premier League appearances, including three goals in his last two outings.

His current goalscoring record means he has now equalled Joao Pedro's Premier League goal tally for Chelsea this season, making the Brazilian's absence through injury a significant concern for Alonso.

With Joao Pedro unavailable, the Chelsea manager has experimented with different attacking combinations, deploying Neto and Morgan Rogers in forward positions.

Nevertheless, the Portuguese international has appeared more comfortable and effective when operating as a right wing-back.

Neto has already registered three goals this season, compared with the five he managed in 34 appearances during the previous campaign. His goals-per-90-minute ratio has also improved considerably, increasing from 0.17 to 0.40, according to FotMob statistics.

However, the winger could face increased competition for a starting position once Joao Pedro returns from injury.

Estevao Willian has also strengthened his chances of securing regular playing time following his impressive performance in Chelsea's recent victory over Manchester United.

Alonso could eventually face the challenge of finding space for Estevao, Joao Pedro, Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer in his preferred attacking setup, potentially putting Neto's starting position under pressure.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future role, Neto's inclusion in the October Premier League Team of the Month highlights the progress he has made under Alonso.

However, with several attacking players competing for limited positions, Chelsea's battle for places in the starting lineup could become increasingly intense as injured players return.
