According to a report by Madrid Universal on Thursday, October 29, 2026, former Arsenal and Barcelona striker Thierry Henry has expressed his admiration for Jude Bellingham following the midfielder's impressive display in Real Madrid's 2-1 victory over Barcelona in the latest El Clasico encounter.

The French football legend was particularly impressed by Bellingham's overall contribution, highlighting his ability to maintain possession, take on opposing defenders and create opportunities for his teammates. Henry believes the England international played a significant role in helping Real Madrid secure an important victory against their biggest rivals.

Real Madrid's performance represented another major step forward for the Spanish giants after experiencing an inconsistent beginning to the season. Their victory at Camp Nou has strengthened the confidence within the squad and demonstrated their growing ability to compete at the highest level. Several individuals received recognition for their contributions, including the team's manager, Jose Mourinho.

Although Kylian Mbappe attracted considerable attention after scoring the decisive goals and receiving the Man of the Match award, Henry believes Bellingham also deserves special recognition for his outstanding performance.

Writing in his Betway Insider blog, the former France international praised the midfielder's technical qualities, particularly his composure when controlling the ball, his ability to dribble past opponents and his intelligence in creating attacking opportunities.

Henry also compared Bellingham's performance with what he witnessed during England's recent encounter in Mexico. He explained that the midfielder consistently demonstrated confidence when carrying the ball, drawing fouls from opponents and helping his team move forward during important moments.

Furthermore, Henry described Real Madrid's display as their strongest performance of the season so far. He suggested that the team had delivered something particularly impressive, especially considering their defensive organisation and effectiveness when dealing with opposition counterattacks.

Meanwhile, the former Barcelona forward also discussed the possibility of a fascinating rivalry developing between Mbappe and Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal. He believes their competition could become one of the biggest attractions in Spanish football over the coming years.

Henry compared the potential battle between the two attacking talents with the historic rivalry between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. He suggested that Mbappe and Yamal could challenge each other for several seasons, potentially competing for major individual honours, including the prestigious Ballon d'Or award.
