According to a report by Football London on Thursday October 22, 2026, Liverpool, Tottenham, Atletico Madrid, PSG, and Bayern Munich are allegedly keeping tabs on Chelsea defender Malo Gusto in the lead-up to the January transfer window, when he could potentially leave Stamford Bridge.
The French international's position has been impacted by increased competition, and he has recently struggled for regular minutes. Since Chelsea now has more defensive options, Gusto's future with the club is uncertain.
The defender Gusto may be considering opportunities elsewhere due to the complexity of his situation, which has been exacerbated by the arrival of Marco Palestra, Pedro Neto's outstanding performances at wing-back, and Josh Acheampong's development.
According to reports, Chelsea placed a £67 million valuation on Gusto last summer. However, in the forthcoming transfer windows, the club may reduce their asking price in order to make a possible sale easier.
After struggling to fill the right back position after Trent Alexander-Arnold's transfer to Real Madrid, Liverpool could be an appealing destination. Rumor has it that Tottenham is interested as well, even though they already have Pedro Porro.
Even though Gusto is currently under contract with Chelsea, he has suitors outside of England who are keeping tabs on his availability, including PSG, Atletico Madrid, and Bayern Munich.
While representing France at the international level, Gusto racked up 141 appearances for Chelsea over three years. He is still bound to his contract until 2030 even though his future is clouded.
Another crucial factor to think about is Chelsea's possible financial return. The club could make a tidy profit if Gusto leaves after signing him for about £26.3 million.
His initial investment is amortized over seven and a half years under the accounting arrangements that were applicable to his original transfer, which significantly affects the financial outcome.
Reportedly, a January sale valued at £67 million could bring in around £55 million. If Chelsea were to accept £50 million, they would still come out ahead financially.
If Chelsea is able to get their initial £67 million valuation, they stand a chance of earning an additional £56.5 million if they hold out until next summer.
It is unclear if Chelsea will sell, but they could use the money to sign another player, with Alex Scott supposedly being one of their targets.
The transfer priorities of Chelsea, the availability of regular football for Gusto, and the willingness of interested clubs to meet Chelsea's financial demands will determine Gusto's future with the London club.
