According to a report by GOAL on Monday November 2, 2026, Arsenal forward Noni Madueke has responded after being asked whether he would have swapped shirts with Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister following their heated confrontation during Sunday's Premier League clash at Anfield.
Madueke and Mac Allister were involved in a heated exchange in the 79th minute of the encounter, which Arsenal won 1-0 to move three points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
The incident started after Mac Allister fouled Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard and appeared to say something to him while he was on the ground before tapping him on the head.
Madueke immediately approached the Liverpool midfielder, leading to a confrontation between the two players. Mac Allister subsequently went down holding his face, attracting the attention of referee Andy Madley.
The referee booked Mac Allister and Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber but decided against taking action against Madueke, who was already on a yellow card.
VAR also reviewed the incident and supported the referee's decision, ruling that there was no violent conduct by the Arsenal forward.
Speaking to Viaplay after the match, Madueke was asked whether he would have swapped shirts with Mac Allister.
The England international responded with four words, saying: "I wish I did."
Madueke also accused the Liverpool midfielder of deliberately trying to provoke him into receiving a red card during the confrontation.
"He's obviously clever, he tried to bait me into getting a red card there, but obviously not," the Arsenal forward said.
He admitted that he was concerned while VAR reviewed the incident because he knew the officials could interpret the situation differently.
"In my head I was thinking, 'Oh, it's possible with VAR; it's about whoever interprets it.' I don't know what they're thinking. But thankfully it wasn't," he added.
Meanwhile, Arsenal secured an important victory at Anfield thanks to Kai Havertz's first-half goal.
The German forward found the net in the 16th minute after turning in Declan Rice's low cross at the far post, following a mistake from Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker.
The victory moved Mikel Arteta's side to 24 points from nine Premier League matches, giving them a three-point advantage over their closest challengers.
Madueke has scored twice in 11 appearances across all competitions this season and could receive more opportunities in the coming weeks following Bukayo Saka's injury.
