According to a report by BBC Sport on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, Galatasaray secured a well-deserved 4-2 victory over Lille in their UEFA Champions League match.

The Turkish side made a bright start to the game, taking the lead in the second minute through Yunus Akgün, who found the back of the net with a left-footed finish to put his team in front. However, Lille responded quickly, with Soriba Diaoune drawing the French side level in the eighth minute after receiving a pass from Alexsandro Ribeiro.

Both teams continued to create chances as they looked to take control of the match, and Lille eventually turned the game around in the 39th minute when Diaoune scored his second goal of the evening, with Hakon Arnar Haraldsson providing the assist.

Galatasaray refused to give up and found an important equaliser just before half-time, as Aleksey Batrakov headed home from close range in the 44th minute following an excellent delivery from Roland Sallai, ensuring that both sides went into the break level at 2-2.

The visitors returned for the second half with renewed determination and regained the lead in the 52nd minute when Nabil Bentaleb accidentally turned the ball into his own net following a Galatasaray corner, giving the Turkish side a valuable advantage.
