According to a report by Daily Post on Saturday October 31, 2026, Victor Osimhen celebrated the birth of his daughter by finding the back of the net for Galatasaray in their 4-0 victory over Konyaspor, but the Nigerian striker's performance was overshadowed by an injury scare.
The Super Eagles forward opened the scoring in the 12th minute at the Medaş Konya Büyükşehir Stadyumu, rising highest to connect with Gabriel Sara's free kick and power a header beyond the reach of goalkeeper Deniz Ertaş.
Osimhen continued to trouble the home side's defence and came close to adding to his tally before half-time, forcing Ertaş into an impressive save with a powerful effort.
He threatened again after the restart when his header from a corner was brilliantly stopped by the Konyaspor goalkeeper.
However, concerns emerged over his fitness after he reportedly experienced discomfort during the first half and received treatment before continuing the match.
Osimhen was eventually substituted in the 61st minute, with Deniz Gül coming on to replace him as Galatasaray maintained their dominance.
The injury concerns increased after the final whistle when the Nigerian international was spotted limping while greeting supporters.
Galatasaray's other goalscorers were Yunus Akgün, Aleksey Batrakov and Rafael Leão, as the Turkish giants secured a convincing victory.
The goal against Konyaspor was Osimhen's 10th in all competitions this season, providing another milestone in what has been a productive campaign for the striker.
However, Galatasaray are yet to provide an official update on his condition, leaving uncertainty over the extent of the discomfort and his availability for upcoming fixtures.
The club will be hoping the injury scare is nothing serious, particularly with Osimhen continuing to play an important role in their attacking plans.
