According to a report by Daily Post on Monday October 19, 2026, former Fenerbahce forward Bülent Uygun has claimed that Victor Osimhen is yet to regain his best form following his return from a groin injury.
The Galatasaray striker suffered the injury during his team's 3-2 victory over İstanbul Başakşehir in September, forcing him to miss three matches across all competitions.
Osimhen also missed Nigeria's 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Guinea-Bissau and Madagascar after failing to recover in time.
The Nigerian international returned to action in Galatasaray's 3-1 victory over Kasımpaşa after the international break, providing an assist to help his team secure the win.
However, his performance against Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League reportedly raised further questions about his match fitness and sharpness.
Speaking to Tivibu Spor, Uygun suggested that Osimhen's eagerness to make an immediate impact after his injury had affected his performances.
"His desire to do a lot after his injury, coupled with his body's lack of coordination, and his tendency to yell at his teammates after numerous mistakes, even his own, shows he's still not ready," Uygun said, as reported by Habersarikirmizi.
The former Sivasspor manager also questioned the striker's ability to maintain his footwork during attacking situations, arguing that his recent injury was still affecting his performance.
"He's just returned from a serious injury, which is causing him to remain out of form," he added.
Osimhen's struggles continued in Galatasaray's league encounter against Gençlerbirliği, where he failed to score or provide an assist.
The result marked the first time he had finished a league match without a goal contribution since the start of the campaign, according to the report.
Despite the recent concerns, Osimhen will be determined to rediscover his scoring touch and return to the level that has made him one of Galatasaray's key attacking players.
The Nigerian forward will hope to regain full fitness and help the Turkish champions as they continue their domestic and European campaigns.
