According to a report by BBC SPORT on Sunday October 18, 2026, Kylian Mbappe delivered an outstanding performance as Real Madrid secured a convincing 4-1 victory over Sevilla on Sunday, scoring twice to help Jose Mourinho's side claim an important win.

The French forward was instrumental in Madrid's attacking display, combining his finishing ability with intelligent movement to trouble the visitors throughout the encounter.

Real Madrid broke the deadlock in the 30th minute through Arda Guler, who collected a pass before firing an unstoppable effort into the top-right corner. Mbappe then doubled the hosts' advantage seven minutes later with an excellent individual goal. The forward worked his way into the penalty area and calmly placed his shot into the bottom-left corner, leaving Sevilla goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos unable to prevent the goal.

Mbappe continued to threaten after the restart as Real Madrid looked to extend their advantage. His movement and attacking intent kept Sevilla's defence occupied, while his ability to find space inside the penalty area created further problems for the visitors.

The France international completed his brace in the 63rd minute after Real Madrid were awarded a penalty. Mbappe stepped forward to take responsibility and confidently sent his effort straight down the middle of the goal. Vlachodimos was unable to stop the strike, allowing Madrid to establish a commanding 3-0 lead.

Sevilla managed to reduce the deficit in the 80th minute when Manuel Bueno Sebastian finished into the bottom-left corner following a well-worked attacking move with Lucas Stassin. However, their hopes of mounting a comeback were quickly weakened.

Real Madrid restored their three-goal advantage just two minutes later through Yan Diomande. The forward controlled a pass from Aurelien Tchouameni before unleashing a powerful strike from the edge of the penalty area into the top-left corner.

Mbappe was subsequently substituted in the 85th minute after helping Madrid establish a comfortable advantage. His two goals had already made a decisive difference in the contest.

The French forward's brace, clinical finishing and consistent attacking threat made him a strong candidate for Real Madrid's Man of the Match award.
