Black Maidens assistant coach Bashiru-Deen Sumaila says Ghana are determined to secure victory against Argentina when the two sides meet in the Round of 16 at the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
Ghana advanced to the knockout stage of the competition in Morocco after collecting four points in Group C, where they faced Norway, Brazil and Canada.
With a place in the quarter-finals at stake, the Black Maidens will need to produce a strong performance to overcome their South American opponents.
Speaking ahead of the encounter, Sumaila expressed confidence in the team’s preparations, insisting that the players are ready to battle for a win.
“We’ve watched Argentina. We had the time to have the girls watch whatever is supposed to be done, what they need to work around, and what we have to be very careful of,” Sumaila stated.
“The girls are very poised and ready for the game,” he said confidently. “Tomorrow is going to be a very good game, and we will win. We are going to give our best tomorrow, and success shall be ours.” he added
