Despite limited game time in his debut campaign as a professional, Rodney Ramagalela’s son, Mashudu Ndou, is already making a strong impression at Motsepe Foundation Championship side Venda FC.

The 20-year-old attacking prospect was snapped up by the Limpopo-based outfit at the start of the 2026/27 season during Clinton Larsen’s tenure.

Mirroring the playing style of his famous father, Ndou is a versatile wide player capable of operating effectively on either flank. He first fell in love with the beautiful game at age 14 while watching the elder Ramagalela feature in the South African top flight.

He began his footballing journey in the amateur ranks with Limpopo side Matanda Rockers FC before catching the eye of Venda FC scouts, who integrated him into the club’s development structures.

Although the youngster is yet to make his official senior debut, he has already earned places in the matchday squad on several occasions.

KAITANO TEMBO ADMIRES YOUNG ‘RAMA G’ IN TRAINING

Recently appointed Venda FC head coach Kaitano Tembo told FARPost that the rising star shares distinct traits with his father.

“He’s got so much potential, and I think he really reminds me of his father,” Tembo told FARPost.

Over a distinguished 14-year professional career, Ramagalela represented top-tier clubs including Mamelodi Sundowns, Black Leopards, Golden Arrows, Chippa United, and Polokwane City FC.

WHY TEMBO SEES HUGE POTENTIAL IN THE YOUNG WINGER

Tembo highlighted Ndou’s fearless directness and work ethic in training, while emphasising that patience will be key as he adapts to senior football.

“He’s very direct. He plays as a wide player on either the right or left wing. He takes on defenders, gets behind the backline, and plays with great aggression,” Tembo explained.

“The main challenge at that age is match fitness and experience. You only gain true tactical awareness and confidence by playing competitive matches consistently, which is what we are building towards.”

Meanwhile, Ndou and his Venda FC teammates remain on the hunt for their first victory of the 2026/27 campaign. The Thohoyandou-based side currently sits at the bottom of the log after recording five defeats and one draw from their opening six fixtures.

Venda FC will look to turn their fortunes around when they host log leaders Magesi FC in a high-stakes Limpopo Derby at Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
