Nottingham Forest breathed life into their season with a 3-1 victory over Manchester City at the City Ground – the first three points on home soil this season.
Two goals from Liam Delap and a strike from Jair Cunha saw Forest home and dry, with Rayan Cherki’s brilliant second half goal proving nothing more than consolation.

What a win! 💪 Lift off for Oliver Glasner as Forest beat Man City 3-1! Tell us how you're feeling 👇
It was a big night on Trentside for Oliver Glasner following his explosive rant after last weekend’s 2-0 defeat to Brentford, and it’s fair to say the players showcased that they’re behind their manager against City.
After the game, Glasner was greeted in the tunnel by Evangelos Marinakis as the Forest owner made a trip to watch the Reds on home soil for the first time this season.
In a video posted on the club’s official social media channels, Glasner was spotted asking a favour from Marinakis after his first appearance at the City Ground this season.
Glasner said to Marinakis: “Thank you, this is your first time here of the season so now I need you to come every week”, with the pair embracing each other and sharing a smile.
If the presence of Marinakis did make a difference to the players then it’s perhaps something the owner will have to look at, with Forest proving too hot to handle for City, who have now lost three Premier League games on the spin.
Great to have our owner with us for this special victory. ❤️ pic.twitter.com/k0hF0qMv2M

Forest can now have two weeks of rest with nine points on the board from their opening 10 games and although that’s far from an ideal situation, it does at least give the Reds a platform to build from.
With the games starting to come thick and fast once domestic action returns, Forest will take stock during this two-week break and hope to return ready to get more points on the board.
