Al Ahly Shaken As Rulani Mokwena Breaks Records With 15th Straight Win

RULANI MOKWENA ON FIRE! PYRAMIDS FC SECURE 15TH CONSECUTIVE WIN AND BOOK EGYPT CUP LAST-16 SPOT

South African football coach Rulani Mokwena continues to make headlines in Egyptian football after guiding Pyramids FC to another impressive victory, extending his remarkable winning streak to 15 consecutive matches in all competitions.

The Egyptian giants secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over El Dakhlya in their Egyptian Cup encounter at the 30 June Stadium on Saturday evening, November 7, 2026, booking their place in the Last 16 of the competition.

The result represents another significant achievement for Mokwena, whose influence at Pyramids has been increasingly evident since taking charge of the Egyptian outfit.

Pyramids wasted little time asserting their authority in the contest, with experienced attacker Youssef Obama opening the scoring in the eighth minute. His early goal provided the defending champions with the perfect platform to control proceedings and dictate the tempo of the match.

Despite their opponents' efforts to find a response, Pyramids remained organised and disciplined, demonstrating the confidence that has characterised their outstanding run under the South African tactician.

The Egyptian side continued pushing for another goal and eventually secured the victory in the 75th minute when Mostafa Fathy found the back of the net.

Fathy's contribution effectively ended El Dakhlya's hopes of producing a comeback, allowing Pyramids to comfortably see out the remaining minutes and confirm their progression to the next round.

For Mokwena, however, the victory carries significance beyond simply advancing in the Egyptian Cup.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns coach has now guided Pyramids FC to 15 successive victories across all competitions, underlining the remarkable consistency his team has developed under his leadership.

His impressive work has also received individual recognition, having been named Egyptian coach of the month for both September and October.

Meanwhile, Pyramids have also enjoyed an excellent start to their League Cup campaign, collecting six points from their opening two matches to move top of Group B.

Attention will now gradually turn towards a potentially decisive league encounter against Egyptian heavyweights Al Ahly on November 23.

Pyramids currently hold a four-point advantage over their rivals and could strengthen their position with another positive result.

For South African football supporters, Mokwena's achievements abroad represent another proud moment, as the highly rated tactician continues to demonstrate his coaching quality on the African continent.

With 15 consecutive victories already secured, all eyes will be on whether he can extend this extraordinary run.
