Romelu Lukaku scored his first goal for Fenerbahce as the Istanbul club secured a 3-0 home victory over Alanyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig on Saturday, with substitutes Kerem Akturkoglu and Vedat Muriqi also finding the net.

Fenerbahce earned an early penalty when Levent Mercan was fouled by Fatih Aksoy inside the box in the 16th minute.

Mason Greenwood's spot kick was saved by goalkeeper Paulo Victor, and Irfan Can Kahveci converted the rebound, but the goal was ruled out following a video assistant referee (VAR) review because he had entered the penalty area too early.

Lukaku broke the deadlock in the 40th minute, meeting Mercan's low cross at the far post with a first-time finish from close range.

Fenerbahce had two more goals by Kahveci disallowed shortly after the break.

His 47th-minute effort was overturned as VAR spotted a foul by N'Golo Kante in the buildup, while another goal three minutes later was ruled out for offside.

Substitute Akturkoglu doubled the hosts' lead around the 70th minute, shortly after replacing Greenwood, with a low shot into the bottom-left corner from the edge of the box.

Muriqi completed the scoring in the 87th minute, finishing from close range after Akturkoglu redirected fellow substitute Archie Brown's low cross into his path with a deft first touch.

The victory lifted Fenerbahce to 16 points from eight matches, while Alanyaspor remained on 12.

Fenerbahce will host Slavia Prague in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday before visiting archrivals Galatasaray in the Super Lig derby on Monday.
