Valencia showdown: the French star following in the footsteps of "the Don" and Benzema

Kylian Mbappé kept up his remarkable scoring run for Real Madrid, netting against Valencia in a 3-0 win on Saturday evening in the twelfth round of the Spanish league.

The Frenchman struck in the 75th minute to seal the victory. Federico Valverde had opened the scoring in the 28th minute before Güler made it two in the 36th.

According to a statistic posted by Spanish journalist Alexis "MisterChip" on his X account, Mbappé has now scored in seven consecutive matches for Real Madrid. That equals scoring streaks managed by club legends Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.

Ronaldo tops the list by some distance. He scored in 12 straight games across 2014 and 2018, and strung together further runs of 10 matches in 2014, eight matches in 2012 and 2013, and seven matches in 2012.

Benzema, meanwhile, found the net in seven consecutive matches back in 2021 and 2022. Mbappé himself has already gone one better than his current run, scoring in eight games in a row during 2025.
