The 2026/27 Carling Knockout Cup Round of 16 delivered an exciting weekend of football, with Golden Arrows, Siwelele FC, AmaZulu FC and Sekhukhune United booking their places in the quarterfinals.

Golden Arrows made a statement on Saturday, securing a convincing 4-0 victory over Chippa United.

Abafana Bes’thende produced a dominant display to cruise into the last eight, leaving Chippa with work to do as they turn their attention to their league campaign.

Siwelele FC also progressed after overcoming Polokwane City in a tense encounter at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium. Neither side could find the breakthrough during regulation time, forcing the match to be decided by a penalty shootout. Siwelele held their nerve to claim a 4-3 victory on penalties following a goalless draw.

On Sunday, AmaZulu FC continued their impressive run with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Kruger United. Hendrick Ekstein proved to be the difference between the two sides, converting a penalty in the 78th minute to send Usuthu through to the quarterfinals.

Sekhukhune United completed the weekend’s action with a convincing 3-1 triumph over Richards Bay. Babina Noko secured their passage to the next round, while the Natal Rich Boyz will be disappointed with their latest setback as they continue to search for consistency this season.

With four teams already through to the quarterfinals, attention now shifts to the remaining Round of 16 fixtures, scheduled to take place on Tuesday.

The remaining matches will determine which teams join Golden Arrows, Siwelele FC, AmaZulu FC and Sekhukhune United in the last eight as the race for the Carling Knockout Cup continues.
