LONG-SERVING AMAKHOSI YOUTH PRODUCT

Ngcobo, born on 16 November 1999 joined Kaizer Chiefs’ youth academy in 2014 from AmaRoto before later captaining the reserve side in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge. His technical ability and vision made him a darling of the fanbase.

The left-footed midfielder made his senior debut in March 2019 during a 1-0 victory over Maritzburg United. Since then, he has made more than 100 appearances for Amakhosi across competitions.

Ngcobo also carries youth international experience with South Africa’s U20 and U23 national teams. His performances at the 2019 Africa U20 Cup of Nations earned him a place in the tournament’s CAF Best XI.

However, his progress at Naturena has been affected by fluctuating game time under different technical structures.

Ngcobo’s most productive season was way back in 2020/21 with 25 appearances. In the 2021/22 term, the minutes dropped to 16 games. The 2022/23 season saw Ngcobo manage 13 matches. It became 12 in 2023/24, 11 appearances in 2024/25 and 16 last term.
