KwaZulu-Natal’s five Betway Premiership clubs have avoided an all-KZN showdown in the Carling Knockout Cup last 16, with AmaZulu, Durban City, Lamontville Golden Arrows, Richards Bay and Milford FC all drawn against opposition from outside the province.

Two of the province’s representatives, Golden Arrows and Durban City, will enjoy home advantage, while AmaZulu, Richards Bay and Milford face away assignments in their opening fixtures.

Arrows host Chippa United at King Zwelithini Stadium in uMlazi tomorrow at 3pm, while Durban City welcome Stellenbosch FC to Chatsworth Stadium on Wednesday at 7pm. AmaZulu travel to Mbombela Stadium to face newly-promoted Kruger United on Sunday at 3pm.

Richards Bay also have an away fixture against Sekhukhune United at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday at 6pm. Milford FC face the toughest-looking assignment on paper, travelling to Soweto to take on a star-studded Orlando Pirates at Orlando Amstel Arena on Tuesday at 7pm.

Chippa United coach Brandon Truter also believes the competition offers both sides an opportunity to make a statement when they meet. Arrows will be particularly eager to go one step further this season after their 2025 Carling Knockout campaign ended in the semi-finals.

With no provincial derbies in the last 16, all five KZN clubs will have the opportunity to pursue their cup ambitions without having to eliminate one of their provincial rivals.
Tickets are available at Open Tickets online for R50.
