Kaizer Chiefs have made an impressive start to the 2026/27 DStv Diski Challenge season, winning all four of their opening matches to move to the top of the standings and establish themselves as early contenders for the title.
The young Amakhosi have collected 12 points from a possible 12, demonstrating their quality and consistency in the reserve league. Their performances have been impressive at both ends of the pitch, with the team scoring 12 goals and conceding just four to register a goal difference of plus eight.
Their attacking efficiency and defensive organisation have played an important role in their perfect start. With four consecutive victories behind them, Chiefs will be eager to maintain their momentum as they continue their campaign.
The DStv Diski Challenge remains an important competition for developing young talent, giving promising players an opportunity to gain experience and potentially earn promotion to the senior team. Chiefs' strong performances will therefore be encouraging for supporters hoping to see more youngsters progress into the first team.
However, the Soweto giants face competition from several ambitious teams determined to challenge for the top position.
Sekhukhune United Reserves occupy second place with 10 points, keeping them within touching distance of the leaders. Golden Arrows U23 are third with nine points, while AmaZulu Reserves sit fourth with seven points.
Siwelele FC and TS Galaxy Reserves have also collected seven points each, sharing fifth and sixth positions respectively. Meanwhile, Mamelodi Sundowns Reserves are seventh with six points from three matches and could climb the standings as the campaign progresses.
Defending champions Orlando Pirates are currently eighth with four points. The Buccaneers will be determined to improve their results and revive their title defence before the gap between them and the leading teams becomes more difficult to overcome.
Although Chiefs have established an early advantage, the season remains in its opening stages. Maintaining consistency will be crucial if they hope to finish the campaign as champions.
For now, Amakhosi have set the pace, but Sekhukhune United, Golden Arrows, Pirates and Sundowns will be looking to challenge their dominance in the coming weeks.
