Zimbabwean forward Knowledge Musona has taken an important step towards a future in football coaching after being appointed player-assistant coach at Scottland FC.
The 36-year-old will combine his responsibilities as a player with duties in the technical team following the club’s decision to part ways with head coach Norman Mapeza and his coaching staff. The changes came after Scottland were eliminated from the CAF Champions League by Angola’s Petro de Luanda, losing 3-2 on aggregate despite winning the first leg by two goals. FARPost +1
Musona will work under interim head coach Peter Ndlovu, the former Zimbabwe national team captain who previously served as Scottland’s team manager. Ndlovu has been tasked with guiding the club through the remaining fixtures as they continue their domestic campaign.
Danger Fourpence has been promoted from the club’s academy to serve as first assistant coach, while goalkeeper Talbert Shumba will take on goalkeeping responsibilities. Musona is expected to serve as the second assistant coach while remaining available as a forward. herald +1
