Marmalade Sundowns Ladies Silence Moroccan Giants FUS Rabat With Shock Demolition In Egypt

SUNDOWNS LADIES SEND STRONG WARNING TO AFRICA AS THEY DESTROY FUS RABAT TO REACH CAF SEMI-FINALS

ISMAILIA, EGYPT — 7 NOVEMBER 2026

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies have sent a strong message to their continental rivals after recording an impressive 3-0 victory over Moroccan outfit FUS Rabat in the 2026 CAF Women's Champions League on Saturday afternoon.

The South African giants delivered another outstanding performance at Ismailia Stadium in Egypt, securing their second victory of the tournament and confirming their place in the semi-finals.

Under the guidance of coach Godfrey Sapula, Banyana Ba Style entered the encounter determined to finish their Group A campaign on a positive note, and they did exactly that with an impressive attacking display.

Sundowns started brightly and immediately put their opponents under pressure. Boitumelo Rabale came close to opening the scoring inside the opening minutes, but the FUS Rabat goalkeeper produced important saves to keep the Moroccan side in the contest.

However, the South Africans eventually found their breakthrough in the 25th minute.

Defender Bambanani Mbane rose brilliantly to head home from a dangerous opportunity, with the ball going in off the post to give Sundowns a deserved 1-0 advantage.

FUS Rabat attempted to respond before the interval, but Sundowns goalkeeper Andile Dlamini demonstrated her quality with an important one-on-one save in the 40th minute.

The teams went into the half-time break with Sundowns holding a narrow lead.

After the restart, the South African champions continued to demonstrate their experience and determination, controlling important moments of the encounter while limiting their opponents' attacking opportunities.

The decisive moment arrived in the 86th minute when Nthabiseng Majiya produced an excellent finish to double Sundowns' advantage and put the result beyond doubt.

Karabo Dhlamini then completed the scoring from the penalty spot in the 89th minute, sealing a convincing 3-0 victory for the Pretoria-based outfit.

The result means Sundowns finished top of Group A with seven points from three matches, having recorded two victories and one draw without suffering defeat.

They had previously drawn 0-0 against hosts FC Masar before defeating Cameroonian side Lekié Football Filles 2-1.

Sundowns have now booked their place in the last four, with their attention turning towards the semi-finals as they continue their pursuit of a historic third continental championship.

Their latest performance will undoubtedly increase expectations among South African supporters, who will be hoping Banyana Ba Style can bring another African trophy home.
