FORMER KAIZER CHIEFS FLOP TURNS INTO GOAL MACHINE! EFMAMJJASOND GONZÁLEZ SCORES INCREDIBLE HAT-TRICK IN CHINA
JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA — 8 NOVEMBER 2026
Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Efmamjjasond González is making headlines in China after delivering another sensational performance, scoring a hat-trick to guide Nantong Zhiyun to an impressive 3-1 victory over Foshan Nanshi on Saturday.
The Colombian forward continued his excellent scoring form by finding the back of the net three times, reminding football supporters that his career still has plenty of exciting chapters to offer following his unsuccessful spell in South Africa.
González was the difference between the two sides, opening the scoring in the 17th minute before doubling his team's advantage in the 31st minute.
Foshan Nanshi managed to pull one goal back through Yao Hui in the 36th minute, giving the visitors some hope of getting back into the contest.
However, the former Amakhosi attacker had other plans.
González completed his hat-trick in the 58th minute, effectively putting the match beyond the visitors and securing an important three points for Nantong Zhiyun.
The victory was particularly important for Nantong, who were looking to respond after suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat against Changchun Yatai in their previous league encounter.
The result also strengthened their position in second place on the Chinese League One standings as they continue chasing league leaders Guangdong GZ-Power.
According to the latest statistics, González has now scored 13 league goals in 16 appearances this season, alongside one assist. He is also closing in on the league's leading goalscorer, Giovanny, who is four goals ahead of him.
His impressive performances represent a remarkable turnaround compared to his time at Kaizer Chiefs.
González joined Amakhosi on loan from Bolivian club Real Santa Cruz during the 2023/24 campaign. Unfortunately, he struggled to make an impression at Naturena and failed to register a goal or assist in his limited opportunities.
His time in South Africa did not develop as many supporters had hoped, and he eventually moved on to continue his professional career elsewhere.
Now, the 27-year-old is enjoying a different story in Chinese football, where his goals are helping Nantong compete for promotion.
For Chiefs supporters, his latest achievement may raise questions about what could have happened if he had found similar scoring form during his time at Naturena.
One thing is clear: González is currently enjoying one of the most productive periods of his career, and his latest hat-trick has further strengthened his reputation as a dangerous goalscorer.
