Kaizer Chiefs' PSL Rival Set to Face One of Africa's Best Strikers

Mamelodi Sundowns are preparing for a challenging CAF Champions League encounter against Angolan side Wiliete SC, with experienced striker Agostinho Cristóvão Paciência, popularly known as Mabululu, expected to be one of the players to watch.

The 34-year-old forward has been in impressive form for club and country, making him a potential threat to Sundowns when the two teams meet on Sunday, 18 October 2026.

Wiliete SC will host the South African champions at Estádio Nacional da Tundavala in Angola, with kick-off scheduled for 17:00 South African time. The match will provide Sundowns with another important test as they pursue their ambitions in Africa's premier club competition.

Mabululu's recent goalscoring record highlights the challenge awaiting the Brazilians. The striker has reportedly scored seven goals in his last five appearances for Wiliete SC, demonstrating his ability to find the net consistently.

His performances in the CAF Champions League have also been impressive, with three goals in two matches. Those numbers underline his importance to Wiliete's attacking plans as the Angolan side prepares to face one of South Africa's most successful clubs.

Mabululu has also continued to contribute at international level. The veteran forward has scored twice in his last three appearances for Angola, showing that he remains a valuable attacking option for his national team.

Despite being 34, the striker appears to be maintaining his goalscoring form. His experience could be particularly important against Sundowns, who will need to remain organised defensively and avoid giving him opportunities inside the penalty area.

For Wiliete, having a forward in such form will provide encouragement ahead of the encounter. The Angolan club will hope Mabululu can continue his scoring run and help them compete against the South African side.

However, Sundowns have considerable experience in continental football and will not want to allow one player to dictate the outcome of the match. Their defensive organisation and ability to control possession could play important roles in limiting Wiliete's attacking threat.

The Brazilians will also need to make the most of their own scoring opportunities if they want to secure a positive result away from home.

Mabululu's recent performances have certainly placed him among the players Sundowns must pay close attention to. Nevertheless, the final result will depend on the contributions of both teams rather than the form of one individual.

The match is scheduled for Sunday, 18 October 2026, at Estádio Nacional da Tundavala, with South African supporters able to watch the game through SABC Plus.

With Mabululu in strong scoring form, Sundowns will need a disciplined performance as they continue their CAF Champions League campaign.
