Mamelodi Sundowns have provided an injury update on several key players, with goalkeeper Ronwen Williams and defender Aubrey Modiba currently sidelined but expected to return soon.
According to the club’s medical update, Williams and Modiba are dealing with injuries that are not considered serious. The club is hopeful that both players will be available again in the near future, offering a positive sign for the technical team as Sundowns continue their campaign.
“ We have Ronwen Williams out, Aubrey Modiba also out, but these are not serious injuries. We expect them really soon,” Dr Carl said.
However, Sundowns are still without three other players who continue to recover from their respective injuries. Khuliso Mudau, Grant Kekana and Keanu Cupido remain unavailable, leaving the club to manage its defensive options while awaiting their return.
Dr Carl confirmed that the trio are still sidelined but indicated that the majority of the squad should be fit and available.
“Khuliso is still out, Grant Kekana is still out, and Keanu Cupido is still out. The rest of the players should be fine,” he added.
The update provides some reassurance for Sundowns supporters, particularly regarding Williams and Modiba, whose injuries have been described as non-serious. Their expected return could be an important boost for the team, although no specific comeback dates have been confirmed.
Williams remains an important figure between the posts, while Modiba offers versatility and experience in defence. Their absence, alongside the continued unavailability of Mudau, Kekana and Cupido, means Sundowns must rely on the depth of their squad in the meantime.
For now, supporters will be waiting for further updates on the injured players, especially confirmation of when they can return to full training and competitive action. With most of the squad reportedly available, Sundowns will be hoping to maintain their momentum while the sidelined players continue their recovery.
