Mamelodi Sundowns defender Wandile Dube has vowed to prove his value at the Tshwane giants despite facing skepticism over his recent move to the club.

The defender acknowledged that some people have questioned his decision to join Sundowns, but insisted that outside opinions will not distract him from his ambitions. Dube said he remains focused on his career and believes hard work, patience and perseverance will eventually allow him to earn the confidence of both the coaching staff and supporters.

Speaking on Prime Time Sports on Ukhozi FM, Dube addressed the reaction surrounding his transfer and made it clear that he does not intend to spend time worrying about criticism.

"That's not something I dwell on because people can be skeptical," Dube said, according to a translation from Zulu.

The defender explained that he carefully considered the decision to join Sundowns and understood that moving to one of South Africa's biggest clubs would come with considerable expectations. Rather than allowing those expectations to overwhelm him, Dube said he has chosen to remain patient and concentrate on improving whenever he gets an opportunity.

"Making this choice, I reflected on the importance of not listening to what others say," he said.

Dube also appealed to Sundowns supporters to continue backing the team while asking them to remain patient as he waits for his opportunity to make an impact on the field.

"I encourage the supporters to keep supporting us and to expect me to get my opportunity," he said.

His comments reflect a determined approach as he looks to establish himself within a squad where competition for places is intense. Dube understands that consistent performances will be crucial if he is to secure regular playing time and demonstrate that he deserves his place.

He ended his message with a promise to reward the supporters for their patience and support.

"I will demonstrate why the club brought me here, and I promise to bring them joy."

Dube now faces the challenge of turning his confidence and determination into performances that can silence doubters and justify Sundowns' decision to sign him.
