Orlando Pirates players Tshegofatso Mabasa and Titus have been given a clear indication of what they must do to strengthen their chances of representing Bafana Bafana. Fadlu Davids believes that maintaining consistent performances throughout the season will be essential if they hope to earn recognition from national team coach Pitso Mosimane.

According to Davids, talent alone may not be enough to secure a place in South Africa's national team. Players must demonstrate their abilities regularly and prove that they can deliver impressive performances across an entire campaign.

Speaking to FARPost, Davids stressed that consistency in domestic competitions should be a major priority for footballers hoping to attract the national coach's attention.

He explained that producing outstanding performances occasionally is not sufficient. Instead, players need to maintain a high level of performance every week to demonstrate their value.

Davids also pointed out that competing for silverware could improve Mabasa and Titus's prospects of earning international recognition.

Challenging for the league title, winning domestic trophies and performing well in the CAF Champions League could all help demonstrate their quality.

Success in these competitions would give the players opportunities to prove themselves against strong opposition while contributing to their club's ambitions.

However, Davids made it clear that selecting the national team remains Mosimane's responsibility. He declined to recommend specific players, emphasising that the coach must consider the performances of all eligible footballers.

For Mabasa, Titus and other aspiring Bafana Bafana players, the challenge is to remain focused and consistent throughout the season.

Every match presents an opportunity to showcase their abilities, contribute to their team's success and strengthen their international ambitions.

Ultimately, regular performances, individual quality and success at club level could help them move closer to wearing the famous Bafana Bafana jersey.

With competition for national team places remaining intense, the players will need to let their performances speak for themselves.
