Orlando Pirates are expected to conduct detailed research on their CAF Champions League group-stage opponents, particularly Cameroonian side Colombe Sportive, who are considered the least experienced team in Group C but have already demonstrated their ability to cause upsets.

The Buccaneers were drawn alongside Colombe Sportive, Moroccan outfit RS Berkane and Tanzanian giants Simba SC in a group that presents different challenges for the South African club.

Although Colombe Sportive may not have the financial strength or continental experience of their group rivals, their qualification campaign has shown that they should not be underestimated.

The Cameroonian champions secured their place in the group stages after eliminating Mali's Stade Malien and Senegalese club Teungueth FC. Their progress demonstrated their ability to compete against more established opponents.

Cameroon-born football agent Michel Sinha has provided insight into the club's financial situation, revealing that their best-paid players earn slightly above R20,000 monthly, alongside accommodation.

According to Sinha, the club has received significant financial support from a senior government official from the region, allowing it to strengthen its squad and improve players' earnings.

He explained that the financial situation was previously different, with players earning approximately R6,000 before the recent improvements.

Sinha also highlighted the influence of former Cameroon international Samuel Eto'o on the country's football development.

Colombe Sportive have several players worth watching, including Ghanaian striker Adam Musah, while Jean Hughes Eyango has also attracted attention after being included in Cameroon's squad for the November international window.

For Pirates, the challenge will be to avoid underestimating a team whose qualification journey has already demonstrated its competitive ability.
