KAIZER CHIEFS BOMBSHELL! Wandile Duba Fires Stunning Hat-Trick to Destroy TS Galaxy

JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA — 28 OCTOBER 2026

Kaizer Chiefs produced a commanding second-half performance to defeat TS Galaxy 3-0 at FNB Stadium on Tuesday night, with young striker Wandile Duba delivering a sensational hat-trick to secure Amakhosi’s place in the Carling Knockout quarter-finals.

The Round of 16 encounter appeared evenly balanced during the opening 45 minutes, with neither side able to find the breakthrough. However, Chiefs returned from the interval with renewed determination, and Duba proved unstoppable as he scored three times to settle the contest.

The emphatic victory provided a timely boost for coach Fernando Da Cruz and his players following their disappointing elimination from the CAF Confederation Cup against Zambian side Red Arrows.

Chiefs started brightly, looking to take control of the contest in front of their home supporters. Duba tested TS Galaxy goalkeeper Melusi Mathebula with a powerful effort, while Mduduzi Shabalala and Pule Mmodi also contributed to the hosts’ attacking threat.

Despite creating promising opportunities, Amakhosi struggled to turn their dominance into goals during the first half. TS Galaxy defended resolutely, and the teams went into the break locked at 0-0.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 48th minute when Mmodi delivered a low cross into the penalty area, allowing Duba to finish and give Chiefs the lead.

The goal transformed the atmosphere at FNB Stadium, with the hosts gaining confidence as Galaxy attempted to respond.

Chiefs subsequently received an opportunity to extend their advantage from the penalty spot after Shabalala was brought down inside the box. Mfundo Vilakazi took responsibility for the spot-kick, but Mathebula saved his effort.

Duba reacted quickly to the rebound, however, firing the ball into the net to complete his second goal of the evening and put Chiefs firmly in control.
