Bafana Bafana winger Thapelo Maseko made an impressive contribution on his UEFA Conference League debut, providing an assist as FC Copenhagen secured a comfortable 3-0 victory over Braga.

The 22-year-old was named in Copenhagen’s starting line-up for the European encounter and played the entire match, giving him another valuable opportunity to gain experience at the Danish club. His performance was particularly encouraging as he continues to establish himself following his arrival at Copenhagen.

Maseko’s assist helped his team secure an important victory as they began their Conference League campaign on a positive note. Copenhagen showed their quality throughout the match, scoring three goals without conceding to claim all three points.

The match was also a significant milestone for the South African international, as it marked his first appearance in the Conference League. Having already made an impact in domestic competitions, the winger will be hoping to maintain his progress as Copenhagen compete on multiple fronts this season.

Since joining the Danish side, Maseko has enjoyed a promising start. He has registered two goals and two assists in eight appearances across all competitions, demonstrating his ability to contribute both as a goalscorer and as a creator of chances.

His latest assist adds to those encouraging numbers and could strengthen his position in the team as the season continues. Regular appearances will be important for the winger as he looks to develop his game and become a more consistent performer at club level.

Maseko’s progress will also be encouraging for Bafana Bafana, with the national team continuing to monitor South African players competing abroad. Strong performances in European competitions could help the winger maintain his place in the national team setup and improve his chances of earning further opportunities.

Copenhagen will now turn their attention to their domestic campaign, with a league match against Aarhus scheduled for this weekend. They will then return to European action next week when they face Serbian side Crvena zvezda in their next Conference League fixture.

After contributing an assist in a convincing European victory, Maseko will be aiming to build on his encouraging start and continue making a difference for Copenhagen in the coming matches.
