It's Done: Ncikazi Leaves Buccaneers As Chairman Breaks Silence

Irvin Khoza Breaks Silence on Mandla Ncikazi’s Orlando Pirates Exit

Orlando Pirates chairman Dr Irvin Khoza has broken his silence on Mandla Ncikazi’s departure from the club, thanking the experienced coach for his contribution and wishing him success as he prepares to take on a new professional challenge.

Ncikazi’s exit brings an end to his five-year association with the Buccaneers, during which he formed part of the technical team responsible for guiding the Soweto giants through domestic and continental competitions. His departure marks a significant change within the club’s coaching structures as Pirates continue pursuing their ambitions.

In his message, Khoza emphasised that the club appreciated Ncikazi’s service and respected his decision to pursue another opportunity in football.

“Mandla leaves with our gratitude and our blessing. His contribution to Orlando Pirates has been evident throughout his time with us,” Khoza said.

“We respect his wish to pursue this new opportunity and wish him success as he takes on a new responsibility.”

The chairman’s remarks suggest that Ncikazi’s departure has been handled amicably, with the club acknowledging his contribution rather than treating the decision as a source of conflict.

During his time at Pirates, Ncikazi worked within a demanding environment where expectations from supporters and management remained high. The club has continued competing for major honours, making stability and experience within its technical team important considerations.

His next destination has attracted interest, with reports linking him to another coaching opportunity in South African football. However, the precise details of his new role have not been confirmed in Khoza’s statement.

Meanwhile, Pirates will need to maintain continuity within their technical department as they pursue success in the Betway Premiership and other competitions.

Khoza’s message offers a respectful conclusion to Ncikazi’s spell at the club while leaving supporters waiting for further details about the coach’s next move.

As Ncikazi prepares for a fresh challenge, the Pirates chairman has made the club’s position clear: his contribution is appreciated, and he leaves with their blessing.
