Nigerian talent Kazeem Adeyanju stole the spotlight with an impressive cameo for Stellenbosch FC, significantly contributing to the team’s victory over Durban City with two assists. The 20-year-old attacking midfielder showcased his potential to be a key player as the 2026/27 season unfolds, needing only 24 minutes on the field to make an impact.

Adeyanju’s performance stood out after the match, as his assists were vital to Stellenbosch securing a win against Durban City. For a young player trying to make his mark in South African football, this quick impact is a promising sign. Instead of gradually finding his rhythm, Adeyanju immediately showcased his attacking skills, turning chances into goals.

His statistics highlighted a strong performance, earning a noteworthy rating of 8.4. In addition to his assists, he created two significant opportunities and completed three key passes, illustrating his knack for finding openings and placing the ball in threatening positions.

Adeyanju's passing proficiency was another highlight, as he successfully made five out of six passes, achieving an accuracy rate of 83%. Notably, he completed four out of five passes in the final third, indicating his ability to maintain possession and make smart decisions in crucial attacking zones.

He also managed to make three out of five passes into the penalty area, with his playmaking advancing Stellenbosch’s offense and creating scoring chances. Despite having only 14 touches, Adeyanju made each one count, proving that a player doesn't need extensive playing time to make a substantial impact.

His performance offers Stellenbosch another reason to keep an eye on their young attacking prospects. As competition for playing time remains fierce, contributions like his could bolster his chances for more involvement in future matches.

Adeyanju will aim to build on this success and persuade the coaching staff that he deserves a more prominent role. With his two assists in just 24 minutes against Durban City, the Nigerian midfielder certainly made his mark, and if he continues to display such creativity and efficiency, he could become an exciting player for Stellenbosch fans to follow as the season progresses.
