Two Key Pirates Stars Set for Dramatic Return Ahead of Milford Clash

Two Pirates Players Could Make Returns as Buccaneers Get Ready for Milford Cup Showdown

In preparation for their Carling Knockout Cup match against Milford FC, Orlando Pirates could get a much-needed boost. The Buccaneers are aiming to keep up their impressive form after qualifying for the CAF Champions League group stages.

On Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at Orlando Amstel Arena, the Soweto giants will face Milford in the Carling Knockout title defense, another crucial domestic assignment. There will be a kickoff at 19:00, and the Buccaneers will be looking to keep their winning streak going in front of their home crowd.

As head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou guides his team through a challenging stretch of fixtures, the possible return of two players would be a huge help. Fans will have to wait for an official team announcement to learn the players' identities and whether they will be able to play in the Milford match.

The health status of Bafana Bafana winger Oswin Appollis has garnered a lot of attention. The gifted forward has just returned to training following an injury he suffered in Pirates' 3-0 Betway Premiership win over TS Galaxy.

The technical staff took heart from Appollis's return to training after he sat out the first leg of the CAF Champions League qualifying match against African Stars. Ouaddou had previously said that the winger would not be rushed back into action before he was completely prepared.

The coach of the Pirates has stressed the need to preserve his players' fitness, especially with a string of important matches coming up. He is being very careful, so it's safe to assume that any decision about starting players will be based on how healthy they are.

Pirates will be feeling confident heading into the Milford match after securing their spot in the CAF Champions League group stages with a 5-0 aggregate victory over Namibian side African Stars. The first leg was a 1-0 away win, and the second leg was a 4-0 drubbing at Orlando Amstel Arena.

This success follows last season's disappointment in the group stage, and it is a major step toward the club's continental goals.

Having achieved success in Africa, Ouaddou is aware that he must now deliver stellar performances at home. The Pirates are looking to get back to winning ways as they defend their Carling Knockout title.

On the other hand, you can't discount Milford. Despite losing 2-0 in August in their Betway Premiership season opener to Pirates, the KwaZulu-Natal side has learned a lot since joining the league.

Milford coach Xanti Pupuma is optimistic about his team's performance heading into the cup match because of how much they've grown.

The challenge for the Pirates will be to maintain competitiveness while balancing squad rotation. The Buccaneers must carefully manage their players because they face their archrivals, the Kaizer Chiefs, in the Soweto Derby on Saturday.

A perfect time may thus come for the two players' potential return. But before they celebrate their availability, supporters will be waiting for official confirmation.

Pirates should go into the match against Milford with confidence, having already qualified for the continental tournament and having their sights set on domestic silverware. The Buccaneers' ability to keep winning and advance in their defense of the Carling Knockout title is the main concern.
