The Skins fought back from 19 points down after 20 minutes and came within the width of a post of claiming their first AIL victory in Munster.

The opening 20 minutes belonged to the home side, who scored three well-taken tries while Enniskillen struggled to make inroads into the Ballincollig half.

However, the visitors regrouped and dominated the second quarter, scoring two deserved tries through India Daley and Amelia Armstrong. Eve Balfour converted one to leave Skins trailing by a single score at half-time.

Ballincollig started the second half strongly and extended their advantage with a fourth try to secure a bonus point. Enniskillen responded when a powerful driving run from Moya Hill created an opportunity for Sarah Adams, who was illegally prevented from crossing the line. The referee awarded a penalty try, bringing Skins back into contention.

The hosts then capitalised on a loose ball in midfield, kicking through and winning the race to the line for their fifth try. The conversion put Ballincollig 31-19 ahead with 15 minutes remaining.

Enniskillen refused to give up, regaining possession from the restart and building through several phases of play. Zara Flack received the ball in space near the 10-metre line, cut through the defence and scored her fourth AIL try in two weeks. The conversion struck the post and bounced away, leaving the visitors seven points behind with only minutes remaining.

Still chasing more than two bonus points, Skins retained possession from the restart and continued to attack the home defence. After several phases, Daley crashed over for her second try of the afternoon, with Balfour converting under pressure to level the scores at 31-31.

The match finished all square, a result that reflected the efforts of both sides. Enniskillen’s commitment and resilience were evident throughout the contest, with their tackling and ability to turn over possession frustrating Ballincollig on numerous occasions.

The scrum was another notable strength, with Sarah Adams and Caitlan Woods dominating their opposite numbers. Daley was named player of the match after an outstanding performance in which she led from the front.

Enniskillen now sit second in the league with eight points from their opening two matches, a promising start to the season ahead of their next fixture against Cooke RFC at Shaws Bridge.
