This coming Sunday, former Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Germaine Pratt could take the field alongside a coach he knows well.
The Indianapolis Colts announced Saturday that they elevated Pratt from the practice squad for Sunday’s matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. Pratt returned to Indianapolis on Oct. 13 after starting 12 games for the team last season.
The move puts him in position to play again under defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo, who coached him throughout his six seasons in Cincinnati.
Pratt initially joined the Colts in October 2025 following his release from the Las Vegas Raiders. He finished that season with 101 tackles, an interception and a forced fumble for Indianapolis.
His experience with Anarumo’s defense was part of the appeal when Indianapolis brought him back earlier this month.
“I don’t know the plan,” Pratt said, via the Colts’ website, after rejoining the team. “I’ll be ready when the opportunity comes.”
Cincinnati selected Pratt in the third round of the 2019 draft. He appeared in 96 regular-season games with 88 starts before the Bengals released him in June 2025.
For Bengals fans, his defining moment was the interception of Derek Carr that sealed Cincinnati’s wild-card victory over the Raiders following the 2021 season, ending the franchise’s 31-year playoff victory drought.
