Morgan Gibbs-White was in fine form as Nottingham Forest claimed a big victory over a struggling Manchester City at the City Ground.

Liam Delap was the Forest hero with a couple of top-quality goals, and he stood up to be counted in the aftermath of Oliver Glasner’s astonishing rant after last weekend’s defeat to Brentford.

Ryan Yates splits opinion – so where do YOU think his place in the pecking order should be? 🤔

Gibbs-White was in fine form, setting up Delap for his second goal of the afternoon, and he will head off to England duty in confident spirits.

After the game, social media was awash with praise for a number of players, and the Forest number 10 singled out one player for praise on the back of another stunning performance.

Morgan Gibbs-White hails James McAtee

Gibbs-White had praise for teammate James McAtee, who once again turned in a performance that made a mockery of the fact he barely got a kick for Forest in his maiden season at the club.

Nottingham Forest head coach Oliver Glasner

The former Manchester City star outshone the City attackers during the contest and proved a constant thorn in the side with some tireless running throughout his time on the pitch.

Gibbs-White posted on McAtee’s Instagram post after the game some words about his energetic performance, with the player saying: “Ohhh we do some running.”

McAtee has been the surprise package this season for Forest. Glasner has transformed him into a very useful midfielder, and he’s grasped his chance with aplomb.

On another night the Reds’ midfielder might have scored with McAtee smashing a good chance over the bar shortly after Forest had gone 2-0 up in the contest.

Still, there have been some really positive signs from McAtee and the hope will be that he can stay in this sort of form and keep leading Forest to big victories akin to this one.
