Hearts of Oak secured consecutive Premier League victories with a late 1-0 win over Vision FC at the Nii Adjei Kraku Complex in Tema New Town on Saturday.
The Phobians were rewarded for their persistence when Kwesi Asmah struck in the 86th minute to settle a closely fought contest.
Asmah reacted quickest to a loose clearance inside the Vision FC penalty area before finishing with his left foot. His goal extended Hearts of Oak’s winning run after their narrow victory over Port City.
The result marks an improvement in form for Hearts as they continue their efforts to establish greater consistency in the Premier League.
In Kpando, Berekum Chelsea recorded their first away victory of the season by beating Heart of Lions 2-0 at the Kpando Stadium.
Dramani Awuah put the visitors ahead in the 39th minute, while Paul Attah Agyei added a second in the 69th minute.
Heart of Lions enjoyed the greater share of possession but were unable to turn that dominance into goals, as Berekum Chelsea punished the hosts with an efficient attacking display.
The defeat was Heart of Lions’ second in succession. Berekum Chelsea, meanwhile, moved up to seventh in the league table and will take confidence from the result before their next fixture against Samartex.
