A series of football matches preceded the much-advertised clash between Lisbon FC of Asokore Mampong (in blue) and Liberty Stars of Asawase (in yellow).
Mr Bernard Sebe refereed the match.
Mr. Sebe called the two sides into play. It was a ding-dong affair till the 32nd minute when number 10 in the yellow shirt dribbled his way through the defence of the blue lads to open the score before half-time.
On resumption, the Mampong boys put more pressure on their opponents, which resulted in a foul and an equaliser in the 76th minute
From thence, the match became more physical, resulting in each side attracting 3 yellow cards till the final whistle.
Then the penalty kicks were taken. Mampong won by 5 goals to 4.
The Presiding Member of the Asokore Mampong Municipal, Hon. Jarah, did the kick-off while the health message was read by Miss Praise Agbenu, a midwife of Asokore Mampong Government Hospital.
This match was sponsored by UNFPA and Global Affairs Canada in partnership with NCCE.
