Ballon d'Or winner Harry Kane has extended his contract at Bayern Munich until 2029 in a move that will make him Europe's highest-paid player.
According to reports in Germany, his bumper new deal takes his weekly wages to a staggering £400,000 - believed to be the highest base salary in the continent.
Kane scored 73 goals in 65 appearances for club and country last season, earning him the award for the world's best player ahead of Kylian Mbappe and Lamine Yamal at last week's ceremony in London.
Tthe England captain has scored 156 goals in 161 games since joining Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023.
Kane was entering the final six months of his deal at Bayern but any hope of returning to the Premier League to break Alan Shearer's goalscoring record has been dashed, as he commits another three years to the German champions.
The 33-year-old has settled into life in Bavaria with ease, moving to Germany with his wife and childhood sweetheart, Kate, and their four children to embark on a new life together three years ago.
Signing his new deal, Kane said: 'I feel right at home at FC Bayern. I love the club, the fans and the city of Munich.
'We have a fantastic team and, in Vincent Kompany, a fantastic manager. It makes me very proud to be part of this club.
'My whole family is very happy here. I was keen to stay. I'm now looking forward to the future and I want to win many more titles with this great club.'
Kane had never lifted silverware before joining Bayern but has made up for it in the last two years, claiming two Bundesliga titles, the DFB Cup and two German Super Cups.
He has earned plenty of individual honours, too. Alongside the Ballon d'Or, Kane has been Bundesliga top goalscorer in both seasons and has twice won the Golden Shoe, which recognises Europe's best striker. He was also crowned Germany's best player last season.
For country, Kane led England to their best World Cup finish since 1966 this summer, as the Three Lions won bronze. Kane scored six goals in seven outings for Thomas Tuchel's side.
Later this month, Kane is poised to become England's record appearance holder when the Three Lions face Croatia and Spain in the Nations League. He currently shares the record with Peter Shilton, with the pair capped 125 times.
Kane is already England's all-time leading goalscorer, having netted 91 times - 38 more than second-placed Wayne Rooney.
He told The Guardian in 2024: '[The children are] in school now and have been skiing the last couple of weekends. Just having that has been great for them. We've met a few of the parents at school and made friends with teammates' wives and kids.
'Slowly but surely it starts to feel like home. People ask what are the big differences, but a lot of the routine is pretty much the same.
'You miss friends you have at home or a golf course, but you soon learn about those things here and it becomes part of your home.
'They’re loving it. They’ll be speaking the language before me too.'
