According to a report by Madrid Universal on Thursday, October 22, 2026, Real Madrid are continuing their efforts to secure the futures of key players as the club prepares for the final months of the year. Despite mixed reactions to Vinicius Junior’s contract renewal, the Spanish giants remain determined to retain their most important stars.
Reports suggest that Los Blancos could confirm several contract extensions before the end of the year, with Arda Guler reportedly set to become the first player to receive official confirmation of a new deal.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid are expected to announce Guler’s contract renewal soon. The Turkish midfielder has already signed the agreement, which will keep him at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2031.
Guler’s previous contract was due to expire in the summer of 2029, meaning the new agreement represents a two-year extension and secures his future at the club for the foreseeable future.
The deal was reportedly agreed in September, with both parties having completed the necessary arrangements. An official announcement is now expected in the coming days.
Guler joined Real Madrid as one of football’s most promising young talents but initially struggled to establish himself as a regular starter. However, his performances this season have demonstrated his growing importance to the team.
Under new manager Jose Mourinho, the 21-year-old has impressed whenever given the opportunity. The Portuguese coach has particularly favoured the attacking partnership between Guler and Jude Bellingham, allowing both midfielders to make an impact in advanced positions.
Guler has recorded three goals and five assists in 11 competitive appearances this season, highlighting his influence in the final third and his growing confidence within the squad.
Extending his contract reflects Real Madrid’s faith in his potential and long-term value to the team. His next challenge will be to maintain his impressive form, develop greater consistency and establish himself as one of the club’s leading stars.
