Real Madrid tie down 17-year-old defensive talent to new contract until 2030

According to a report by Madrid Universal on Friday, November 6, 2026, Real Madrid have secured the future of teenage defender Alejandro Castano by offering the 17-year-old a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2030.

The Spanish giants decided to extend Castano's contract after being impressed by his progress since joining their youth academy, La Fabrica, in early 2025.

The new agreement adds three years to his previous deal and highlights the club's confidence in his ability to continue developing through the academy system and eventually compete for a place in the senior team.

Born in 2009, Castano joined Real Madrid after previously spending time at Quirinal, Sporting Gijon, Roda, where he had a loan spell, and Villarreal.

Although he has only been at the club for a relatively short period, the centre-back has made encouraging progress and established himself as an important player for the Juvenil B team.

He has started seven of the team's eight league matches this season, during which they have conceded just four goals.

His impressive performances have also earned him opportunities to train with the Juvenil A squad, managed by Alvaro Lopez, giving him valuable experience at a higher level of youth football.

However, Castano's development has also involved some challenges. Shortly after arriving at Real Madrid, he was promoted directly to Juvenil C despite being younger than the usual age group.

His progress was later disrupted by a serious shoulder injury that required surgery, forcing him to remain on the sidelines until August.

The defender has since made a positive recovery, gradually regaining his fitness and displaying the qualities that have persuaded Real Madrid to offer him greater contractual security.

At international level, Castano has represented Spain at under-15 level and has also made two appearances for the under-16 team. He is also understood to have supported Real Madrid throughout his life.

The youngster is represented by CAA Stellar, the agency that also manages the careers of senior footballers Eduardo Camavinga and Ibrahima Konate.

Real Madrid's decision to extend Castano's contract until 2030 represents another investment in the club's academy system as they continue to secure the futures of promising young talents.
