According to a report by Manchester Evening News on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, Manchester United recruitment coach Connor Tagoe has confirmed his departure from the club after six years at Old Trafford.
Tagoe announced his exit in a post on LinkedIn, thanking the club and his colleagues for the experience while looking ahead to the next stage of his career.
“Big thanks to Manchester United for the last 6 years. My time has come to an end, it’s been a top experience,” he wrote.
He added: “Shared with some top people, and I’m grateful for every moment. Looking forward to the next part of my journey.”
Tagoe joined Manchester United in September 2020, combining recruitment and coaching responsibilities with the management of his football development businesses. His departure brings his six-year association with the club to an end.
He is also the founder of Vision Football Development Academy and has worked with several notable players, including Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer and former Nigeria international Victor Moses.
Although his LinkedIn employment history reportedly still lists Manchester United as his current workplace, his farewell message suggests that his time at the club has ended.
Tagoe’s departure comes as United face growing pressure following a disappointing start to the season under head coach Michael Carrick.
Carrick enjoyed a strong spell after replacing Ruben Amorim in January, guiding the team from seventh to third in the Premier League and securing Champions League qualification.
However, United have struggled this season, managing only two victories in their opening 12 matches. Defeats against Como and Bournemouth have increased criticism of the manager and raised questions about his future.
Despite the speculation, the club have reportedly decided against dismissing Carrick immediately, giving him another opportunity ahead of their upcoming match against Chelsea.
Meanwhile, United officials have reportedly considered possible replacements, with Eddie Howe and Julian Nagelsmann among the names mentioned.
However, there is no confirmed evidence linking Tagoe’s departure to the uncertainty surrounding Carrick’s position. His exit marks a separate change within Manchester United’s recruitment and coaching structure as the club continues to assess its wider football operations.
