What I told Osimhen before he allowed me take penalty against Konyaspor - Leão

According to a report by Daily Post on Saturday, October 31, 2026, Rafael Leão has revealed the conversation that prompted Victor Osimhen to allow him to take a penalty during Galatasaray's 4-0 victory over Konyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig.

Both players found the net in Friday's match, with Leão scoring his first goal for Galatasaray since completing his summer move from AC Milan.

Following the game, the Portuguese winger expressed his gratitude to Osimhen for handing him the opportunity to take the spot-kick, explaining that his teammate understood how much scoring the goal meant to him.

Leão also disclosed that he had jokingly asked Osimhen to score twice because the Nigerian striker had recently welcomed his second child.

Osimhen found the net once before giving Leão the opportunity to convert the penalty and register his first goal for the Turkish champions.

The winger also praised the atmosphere within the Galatasaray dressing room, describing the squad as a close-knit group.

Leão will now turn his attention to Galatasaray's next challenge, with the Turkish side set to face VfB Stuttgart in the Champions League on Tuesday.
